After 3 years of legal proceedings, the Supreme Court of Japan finally ruled in favor of Nintendo in its dispute with "Mario Kart". 

A go-kart company was providing "Mario Kart" themed go-kart race on Tokyo's public roads. The proceeding were initiated in 2017, when Nintendo filed a lawsuit against the company in question accusing it of abusing their intellectual property. The result was announced by the authorities, with the trial endind favourably for Nintendo. 

Compensation will be paid by the company for the use of "Mario Kart" objects, but also for the dangerousness of these races which cause social problems and risks of accidents.
